Keepin busy

Well obviously I'm going crazy ready to pop a baby out that doesn't want to come, so we're just trying to distract ourselves! Here's my little boy scout! Aaron is assistant scoutmaster and had to go out and get a uniform for a little Court of Honor last night that I went to with him. Cute =)
Halloween Party at the Andersen's.

It's just not worth spending the money on a cool costume when you're 9 months prego, so we resorted to being Juno and her boyfriend, Bleeker! I had the hoodie, but big surprise, I got too hot and took it off 5 minutes later.  Aaron, however is loving these yellow short shorts a little too much!

Desperate times call for desperate measures

I went and got acupuncture today from a chiropractor to induce labor! Yes I'm getting desperate but not to the extreme, I don't think. =) I actually can't believe I just paid someone to stick needles in me (I am psychologically retarded when it comes to needles... ask Alicia, she was there haha). No I didn't pass out.. got a little whoozy and well, I don't have a baby yet, but we'll see if that helped to speed things up!

39 weeks

Well here's the latest to our blog stalkers hehe: (It's okay, I'm one of them too)

Went to the doctor yesterday morning for what we hoped would be our last doctor visit, but alas it probably won't be... I have no signs whatsoever of being close to going into labor.  No dilation, baby hasn't dropped, no Braxton Hicks, I guess Carter just is having too much fun kicking around in here!

I met with a new doctor (we rotate docs at the clinic we go to) and I loved this one.  He was actually very helpful in answering questions and young and friendly.  Anyway, he said there's a possibility that the baby hasn't dropped because my pelvis is too small, so technically he can't really go anywhere.. and that would also be why I'm not dilating or effacing really.  At this point, there's a 50/50 chance of having a c-section, which I REALLY did not expect because my pregnancy has been so healthy and everything.  SO we're waiting out this week to see if anything happens.. he could drop all of a sudden and I could go into labor myself, who knows.  Doctors can't estimate accurately how big the baby is, but I don't think I'm at risk for having this HUGE baby so we're just letting him bake a little longer and will worry about big decisions next week!

Oh and p.s. I've had no stretch marks my entire pregnancy, and thought all of a sudden they've popped up around my belly button.. turns out it might be a rash! It itches SO BAD.  I guess I wasn't meant to end this pregnancy that easy!

Witches Night Out!

So my friend told me about Gardner's Village and the Halloween festivities that go on including Witches Night Out so my sister and I rounded up some friends to go and be silly! And although it is clear that we are witches, we were dramatically underdressed! I have never seen so many crazy ladies with fancy witch costumes in my life!  We ended up just grabbing some dinner and browsing the shops but it was really fun to do something new and festive! Plus I've been needing some fun things to do to pass the time til baby comes!
There was no way I was going to buy a fat maternity costume, but my sister insisted I wear this random black dress so that's as good as it gets!  Here's my sister Val, our cousin Heather, Val's neighbor Tara (with doggie Lucy) and meMe and Val playing around in a shopThis crazy lady was posing for pictures, we couldn't resist!
Here's Lucy, who was the most popular person (well, dog) there last night! Her little witch costume complete with hat was sooo cute, and people would stop and stare and pet her every 5 seconds! She didn't like having her hat on at all, but she was a trooper.

Doctor Visit and Freaks of Nature

So today was a rough morning... I'm 38 weeks today and have no sign whatsoever of a baby wanting to make his appearance- No Braxton Hicks, no "dropping," which is okay, since it's still early.  But at our doctor visit, I expected at least some progress but alas, nothing is happening!! Carter just wants to stay in there it seems, and I guess he needs it so I'm okay with 2 more weeks, but not looking forward to the possibility of going overdue! (And I admit I cried after getting out of the doctor's because I was just frustrated at the fact of being pregnant for like 3+ more weeks!) However me and Aaron went to the gym and I met a girl in the locker room who must have been inspired to say something... It was a girl that worked there who asked when I was due, and she had just had a baby 4 months ago.  Without me even telling her anything about our doctor visit, she said, Don't worry, you look great for 38 weeks, and I went a week overdue.  It's hard waiting, but your baby ends up so much healthier, eats better, sleeps better, and ends up a happy baby. She said that it's totally worth it to have them stay in longer even though it's hard and uncomfortable for you. Of course I knew that, but it was nice and comforting to hear it again from someone who's been there.  It seems that everyone I know had their baby a week or two early so it sucks to feel left behind! BUT I've got a lot to be grateful for, I've just got to remember that when I have late night heartburn and sharp pains when Carter kicks me!

One nice thing about Aaron's job (which I despise during the summer) is the fact that during the offseason, he gets to spend more time with me and he pretty much picks what days he wants to work.  We took yet another drive up the Canyon, hoping to see the remnants of fall and it was so beautiful! Hence, we are freaks of nature.

I look HUGE in this picture but don't feel sorry for me.. I'm okay =)

Baby's room's all done!

My mom made Carter some cute little curtains that we put up last night, and everything is pretty much ready (he's a spoiled baby already). Since we're down to the last 3 weeks or so, me and Aaron are both kinda freaking out, hoping we have everything we need and trying to think of last minute things we still need to do!  Note the North Carolina basketball picture on Carter's shelf- of course that was Aaron's idea but I guess little boys are supposed to be into sports right?

Go Cougars!

My family came to town this weekend for Conference and the BYU game so it was really fun to spend time with them! Since me and Aaron had never been to a BYU football game together, it was nice that my family bought extra tickets so we could go! The sky was sooo pretty that evening, and I was surprised that being 8 months prego didn't make the game miserable at all =)
